Album of the week

Saints of Los Angeles the latest released album by the classic rock band Motley Crue the album has some of the best songs they have recorded on it this album was a bit heavier than their old stuff but we still love em I first heard the title song at download 2009 when i watched the crue live and let me tell you there's nothing like watching Tommy Lee knock back shots of Jagermeister with the front row anyway the album consists of 13 songs songs such as welcome to the machine, just another psycho, motherfucker of the year and of course saint of los angeles if ytour a fan of the crue then this is a must buy if you dont already have it all in all this album in my view gets a solid 9 out of 10 from me

Retro gamer - Star Wing

Oh I have a real oldie for you this week you'd have to be a bit aged for this classic game basically a very old flying game shortly after graphics became 3d before they had started using textures the basics of the game are that a mad scientist in the lylat system has gone mad ran away to planet venom and declared war on planet comeria and so comeria unleashes it's new fighter planes piloted by the mercenary Fox Mcloud and his team it is easy compared to modern games but back in the day it was solid as 3d was incredible new then that was back in 93

Guest Post - The Purge

The purge is a home invasion film, with the idea that one night a year all crime is legal. This is called the purge and the films follows a family who try to survive the night behind a really pathetic security system that 'looks good' more than is impenetrable.

I love the idea behind the film, the execution of the idea is severely lacking. To begin with Ethan Hawk is not the greatest actor in the world and I tend to find any film that he appears in is never going to be a great hit, this is not the breakout role for him.

All I can think is that it may have been better if it focused on more than one family, more like a set of short stories of the night. The film is not really gripping, it has just enough happening to keep you sitting in your seat but nothing to make you really say wow. The one thing that makes you think is the political notion behind it, as it's quite frightening, and with our current government trying to make the rich super rich and the poor even poorer lets just hope they don't see this film and think of it as a 'How To'!

To sum up, its watchable and not bad, but really not all that its promised to be.

After Earth

Okay so basic principle of the film humans have moved of the earth as aliens have released monsters bread to kill humans now during fighting these creatures someone has managed to do what is called ghosting by in which they are completely without fear now these monsters are blind but can smell our fear and so that's why it's called ghosting and earth is a level 1 quarantined planet meaning everything on it has evolved to kill humans that's the basics done now the stars of the film are the blockbuster titan Will Smith(men in black 1, 2 and 3, Independence day, hitch) and his son Jaden Smith (karate kid, the pursuit of happiness) now the film was okay not great okay the main issue I have is not with the cast Will Smith is an unbelievable actor and one of my favourites and Jaden is become a great actor to so many times in the film and in karate kid he has looked so much like his father now as I said the main problem is that Will Smith has the ability to show such emotion and make you truly believe it is a real feeling weather it be him being cocky or sad or angry he brings such emotional depth to a performance but in this he plays a guy who barely shows any emotion and although he does it very well it seems in my view a waste of his talent if they had wanted a complete lack of emotion they should have used Kristen Stewart using Will Smith for this role is like asking Leonardo Davinci to paint your kitchen sure he'd do it well but he's better than that I personally found nothing wrong with the acting but was a bit disappointed by the writing but that's just my opinion the CG and the fight scene with Jaden was amazing and seamless it look sensational and I truly believe he'll go on to do as well as his father has done sadly for this film probably not so in summing up I'd give this film a solid 5 out of ten good concept great acting poor writing

Retro gamer - Super bomberman

Most of you will be saying super what now but for the very few of you who know what a snes is then you'll know the game as it was one of the best games ever made for the snes the working of the game was very simple really you have the game screen a square with a maze of blocks some destroyable some not you were one of the bomber men and you had to blow up the other 3 now tho make the game more difficult there were pick ups extra bombs, speed, throwing glove, power ups for the bomb all sorts of things now you worked your way through
the maze by blowing up the bombs well when i first played this game I was hooked and to be honest I can still get hooked now well over ten years later anyone with access to a snes I'd suggest it in fact out of 10 I'd give this a solid 8.5

movie of the week - Rock of ages

Okay yes I know it's a musical but it's a rock musical I had foreboding about this film when I was waiting for it to be released and after watching discovered it was amazing aside from the fact that it is filled will seriously hot woman and that the main chick in it Julianne Hough has probably the hottest arse on the planet the film itself is just amazing it's an old story told very well  it has great actors and it is one of Tom Cruises best roles he plays the infamous Stacee Jaxx and can I just say he plays it perfectly his character is basically a cross between Axle Rose and Keith Richards and he really pulls it off fantasticly a amazing supporting cast include Alec Baldwin and Russell  Brand really adds to the film and the music in it is sensational  Some of the of the songs included in this film are rock you like a hurricane by the scorpions, nothin but a good time by poison and don't stop believing by journey unfortunately there is one really gay boy band song in the film but its integral to the story but I just turn my head and refuse to listen to it but anywho out of ten I'd give this film a solid ten out of ten
